PROF. DR. ASIF AHMED SHAIKH

Prof. Dr. Asif Ahmed Shaikh is the Vice Chancellor of Sukkur IBA University. He holds a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from NED University and a Master’s and Ph.D. in Engineering from Nagasaki University, Japan, under the MEXT Scholarship. With over 15 years of academic and administrative experience, he has served as Dean, Director QEC, and Chairman at NED University, and completed the National Management Course (NMC) in 2018.

Dr. Shaikh has published 38+ research papers, supervised multiple Ph.D. and Master’s scholars, organized international conferences, and secured significant research grants. An expert in quality assurance, he has evaluated universities for HEC, achieved ISO 9001-2015 certification, and is a certified Lead Auditor. Fluent in several languages including Japanese, Dr. Shaikh is widely recognized for his contributions to higher education and research in Pakistan.

In addition to his leadership in academia, Dr. Shaikh has actively served on various statutory bodies, including Senate, Syndicate, Academic Council, and Finance & Planning Committees. He has also been nominated by the Chief Minister Sindh to serve on education boards and committees, reflecting his strong commitment to advancing governance, policy, and quality standards in Pakistan’s higher education sector.
