On March 1, 2013, Government IT College Khairpur was officially handed over to Sukkur IBA University following a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the District Government of Khairpur. Following this transition, the institution was renamed as the IBA-Institute of Emerging Technologies, Khairpur.
Later, on November 16, 2017, the Senate of Sukkur IBA University, the competent governing body, approved the establishment of IBA University, Khairpur Campus (Institute of Emerging Technologies, Khairpur).
Today, it stands as a HEC-recognized campus under the name Sukkur IBA University, Khairpur Campus. The campus is located in the heart of Khairpur city, near Mall Road.
